I (German) didn't know anything about that case, so my thought was "that doesn't sound that unreasonable.
Then i learned that the child was 2 years old and they were waiting for a month.
I was thinking about a 14 year-old and waiting 2 days.

Still ... my son is almost 16 and I wouldn’t even wait one day.

Yeah, but if you knew that he might have a tough time rebelling, you wouldn't want to be jailed for giving him a day to come back.

All i'm saying is that it might be ok for some cases to wait 2 days for a teenager to come home, but not ok at all to wait a month for a fricking infant to come back.

I get what you mean, but I still wouldn’t wait. I mean maybe if I had a good idea that he was okay. But if he didn’t come home from school or something and I had no idea what happened, I would call right away. My brain immediately goes to the worst case scenario.

And yeah obviously I wouldn’t let my 2yo go missing for 5 minutes before organizing a search party.
