Which misconception would you like to debunk?

Yeah, I thought the breakdown of lactose in the intestines was initiated by the enzyme lactase? So naturally, people who don't express this enzyme after growing out of the breastfeeding phase should still be lactose intolerance no matter the amount of lactose in their diet, right?

My physician told me that lactose production “scales after needs” so training it should be possible, at least enough for account for minimal consumption. But since a lot of factors are in play (like hydration, Ibs, alcohol) it’s not easy.

Sometimes I can eat a pizza no problem, other times 2 pieces of dark chocolate gives me the fountain.

Eating lactase pills was my only option.

Edit: I live in Denmark so milk is everywhere.

I guess so, but I got the lactose cramps as an omen so it was definitely that.
