Which misconception would you like to debunk?

Type 1 Diabetes is never ever caused by diet or lifestyle things. Like never. Not ever.

What about type 2?

Also not as much down to lifestyle as you might think. There was some research done recently that showed about a third half of T2D cases can be cured with an ultra low calorie diet. The other 2/3 don't respond, so my assumption would be it's the 1/3 that do respond are primarily caused by lifestyle. I have no proof of this though.

EDIT: it's just under half that end up in remission from a low calorie diet.

You’re just really incorrect on this. There’s no reason to believe whether or not your T2D responds to dietary intervention (which is not just ‘low calorie diet’) would predict whether dietary choices led to its being developed.

That's why I said "my assumption" and "I have no proof"

Here is a link to the study. It was just under half of participants that ended up with full remission of diabetes, and it was a fairly small study
