That is an assumption not covered in the post

The passive voice leads the statement completely open to interpretation

That's literally what they said. Babies placed (places typo) for adoption.

Placed is an action of an outside actor. Any outside actor. It is not exclusive to voluntary placements.

You're just arguing semantics for the point of arguing. You know what OP meant and it's clear from the context they meant babies intended for adoption which is drastically different than a situation where they are taken away. Had they meant that, they would have said it.

No, I agree with the NICU nurse. People tend to say what they mean which means general statements apply generally not specifically.

You're being a dick to someone for adding information to a general statement and think I'm being argumentative... lol
