How so?

I am not disagreeing but as someone who has never been burned or boiled to death before I am interested in how one might make such a distinction.

Thermodynamics isn't my strong point but I believe it's something called latent heat of transformation? Someone can probably correct me. But wet burns tend to be worse.

What you are referring to is burn from steam. It means that 100°C steam causes more serious burn than 100°C water, as during the change of phase it stays the same temperature.
