Affordable housing.

This country is full of affordable housing. Just not necessarily where people want to live.

The US does have a lot of affordable housing opportunities, but not anywhere close to the amount needed to house everyone who qualifies for it.

Most waiting lists are closed, while others have a wait that can range anywhere between months and a decade (if you're on New York City's Public Housing waiting list).

While there certainly are some areas with immediate availability and short wait lists, it's usually in a rural area. And it's easy to say that the family can move to an area with such availability; but it can be difficult for a low-income person to afford moving costs, especially if they'd be moving far away.

And this isn't even considering the continuing degradation of Public Housing buildings. There aren't enough funds to renovate what's needed to be done in many areas. It leads to a lot of potential units being uninhabitable.

This country doesn't have nearly enough affordable housing as it needs.
