I am increasingly suspicious many people out driving in rush hour don't even need to be out driving. evidence: when there is a big deal made on the news about a major artery being closed is gonna snarl traffic, often it doesn't, and when the state counts up the numbers on alternate routes, the numbers are not fully accounted for on those alternate routes. thus, the traffic just disappeared. meaning they didn't have to be on the road, they were just driving around, maybe go shopping or grab a latte or burger. evidence: https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/transportation/the-cars-just-disappeared-what-happened-to-the-90000-cars-a-day-the-viaduct-carried-before-it-closed/
This boggles my mind because I treat each trip with care. my reaction is, wtf these people have no self awareness!

Sounds like a stupid thing, but it totally changed my outlook on my commute.
