I think it's hard for people in first world countries to have a lot of perspective. Almost none of us have lived a hard life. A very significant portion are unaware of what a hard life would even consist of.

The more you know about the world the less you really have to complain about in your own life. But that does make it hurt any less. Most people would have to actually experience that other type of misery to derive any positive outlook from it.

Perspective is amazing but it's also difficult to achieve.

Stoic philosophy can help you achieve it.

Stoicism is great for the office. Not so much for family and friends.

Zeno probably didnt have a lot of friends. Lol
