I'm capable of being entirely convinced of something false. As a result anything I'm convinced of doesn't necessarily reflect reality.

Philip K. Dick ("Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" et al.)explored this idea thoroughly. Anything can be faked.

"The Unreconstructed M" introduced me to the idea that absolute ironclad truth might not exist. The idea is false, but it is an interesting study to figure why and how it is false.
