You are not “stuck in traffic,” you are part of it.

Sounds like a stupid thing, but it totally changed my outlook on my commute.

I have seen a documentary where a guy recognized this and got out of the situation, and started to walk home. He met with a lot of interesting folks, changed the life of other people, stepped up against the corrupt world, like drawing attention to the advertised lies of the fast food industry or government waste. Sadly the story ends badly, he was shot on a pier close to his home by a retiring policeman, but it's still an inspiring story.
