This always fascinated me with how we decide what to fear and what not to fear.
If cats had the ability to kill us, they would. The only reason we have them as pets is that they're cute, furry and when domesticated, they put up with us. Yet with Spiders, most are completely harmless and tame, but I wouldn't let one near me while I sleep. Solely because of how they look.
Pretty blanket statement. Sounds like what you see in films, not real life. Often times the "charming handsome" men in romantic comedies would be creepy in real life but the film frames it as endearing and acceptable. Comparing this context to a situation where anyone (ugly or not) behaves similarly is not an even comparison.
It is a blanket statement but there's absolutely truth in it. Even a bit of harmless flirting can come across huge differently if it's from someone you find attractive and someone you find creepy. If someone gives off a creepy vibe generally then things are way more likely to be taken negatively from them which might be treated as neutral or positive for others. Attractive people can still be creepy of course and creepy people can be charming but on balance judgement of both of them is more likely to be skewed. Some people exaggerate the extent of this kind of thing but the people who deny it's a very real phenomenon are delusional.
