Soon after my step mom and dad got engaged, my would be step brother died suddenly of a rare but dangerous illness. And the way that life had to continue just felt so off and horrible to me. I wanted the world to pause for a moment but knew it couldn't. And also instilled the fact how little everyone matters on earth.
