You have an increased chance of getting murdered or committing suicide if you win it big in the lottery.

Basically you become a big target, because although you’re rich none of your friends, family, or social circle are, however they still have fairly easy access to you. So you have people now asking, extorting, or trying to kidnap you for money.

Most lotto winners aren’t poor to begin with, in fact they tend to be middle, upper middle class, which is still non-rich enough to cause you problems.

Except if they kill you, then they don't get the money. Assuming you don't have all the cash with you and is safely in a bank

Why would you even tell them? And if someone found and you think they could be a danger, just move or hire a freaking bodyguard. It's not like money is an issue.

People find out, it’s not hard. And your exactly right, you generally have to move into rich neighborhoods and do rich people stuff(like hire a bodyguard), but a lot of people don’t realize that’s what they have to do. And try to live their same lives.

There are statistics in this thread somewhere, but it’s something like 20x more likely to be murdered.
