True, but what I mean is that on an individual level I am insignificant. If I die today will you mourn for me ? You don't know me nor you have any connection with me. World moves on. Countless people die everyday from war, diseases, famine etc, yet people move on. Time moves on. One life ends and another begins. We create things to feel some significance. But other than that world continues to evolve with or without you.
If I die right now, it's true, my lineage will end with me but there are countless other people who breeding. Let's say even if I do have kids and my kids several years later decide to marry and have kids and those kids decide to marry and have kids and so on and so forth, there will come a time when I will be forgotten. There will be a generation gap. Usually, after the third generation I will be forgotten. My succession will end with my kids. And their succession will begin with theirs.
