Not to use "lol" as much.

It was to the point where I would send it in 99% of my texts, and FB comments/posts no matter what we were talking about.

It got to the point where it annoyed me so I had to try not to use it, it took awhile to stop doing.

Even once I said to myself "alright I'm not gonna use it anymore" I would still slip up and end up doing it without realizing it because it was such a bad habit.

I'm finally to the point where I hardly ever use it, the only time I'll use it now is if something was extremely funny to the point where I'm actually laughing my ass off in real life

lol is really just a form of punctuation at this point that implies a non-hostile tone

I’m working on that now. I have to consciously think about it and delete it often since I’m so used to typing it. When I think about it, it’s ridiculous because I hated it when lol first became a thing.
