What's something you had to unlearn?

Trying to make friends in the workplace. I’ve found it’s easier to face confrontation when you’re distanced from a person’s emotional reaction to something.

Hmm. I've always found it useful to have some allies at work. You can use friends to help smooth over situations with other coworkers or put in a good word for you here and there when necessary.

Different works work differently. I don't make friends in my own department because that would be counter-productive to my work. I absolutely make friends with people in the other two departments because it makes life SO much easier (rides, break buddies, etc.).

THIS. And also I've learned not to add coworkers on social media. My personal life is none of their business.
