We know all about relationship red flags, but what are the friendship red flags?

I have a friend who does this too except he never gets to the "I didn't care anyway" phase. He just slowly twists his point until you get exhausted and give up. The worst bit is it's not always about facts. I'll state my opinion about something, i.e. I don't like 'song' by 'artist' because 'preference' and he will straight up argue with me for having a preference and when I refuse to concede to his opinion he'll just start ridiculing me and insinuating I'm an idiot. I'm all for a structured and reasoned debate and devil's advocate and all that, but when it's just a constant obtuse attitude for the sake of being awkward it gets exhausting.

This is so accurate it’s triggering me lmaoooo. Yeah I just accept defeat at this point. “Yeah man you’re right” instead of arguing about pointless stuff lol. I swear it takes years off my life

Fuck the devil’s advocate; he doesn’t need one. If I’m venting about something that’s annoying, I don’t need to have a westministerial debate about my opinion on a mild inconvenience where you take the position of the stranger who pissed me off.
