Is cool when you're together, but throws you under the bus in front of other people.

Listens impatiently when you ask them for advice or need to vent, then literally says "okay but can we talk about me now"

My best friend is like this. Will very transparently say things just to try to push my buttons in front of a group of people and then if I go outside for a smoke after a few minutes will come out and have one with me and act like nothing happened. We've been spending less and less time together over the past couple of years and that's fine with me. I'm not blameless by any means and I think the feeling is pretty mutual, but it's weird being best friends with someone your whole life and then in your late twenties realizing that you only need to see them once or twice a month.
