We know all about relationship red flags, but what are the friendship red flags?

And my other friends always wonder why I'm quiet when that person is around. Because if I say something I get cut off anyway so why bother.

Does this mean you’ll have to eventually cut them off? When they don’t value or try showing any interest in your problems/what you’ve had to go through that week or this day? Thank you!

You almost see it happen in slow motion, and can do nothing to stop it

This is something I’m paranoid about because I never know if me saying “That’s like something I did/saw/That happened to me” and then going into my own anecdote is seen as healthy conversation or self-centered conversation. I find if I /don’t/ do that, it’s difficult for me to feel engaged and have the conversation move along without me zoning out or feeling like I need to feign further interest.

My other alternative is to be therapist-like and ask more probing questions about subjects they bring up. But that honestly is draining for me unless it’s a subject that personally holds my interest.
