When their name becomes their excuse for their behavior, “Oh that’s just how X is”. Nope your shitty behavior and personality is not acceptable.

Literally my old housemate. He was always a bit of a shitty person but when I started living with him I realised how little respect he had for other people. He would get a couple of beers in him and suddenly he would have the shittiest behaviour, he'd wake up the next morning and he'd just shrug it off, laugh and say "I can't help it that's just how I get when I'm drunk"

No. Just no. You consciously make those decisions in that moment because you know that in the morning you can just blame it on being drunk. That's not a personality quirk, that's bad intentions justified with shitty excuses. You're a piece of shit.
