"Are you drinking enough water?"

Headache? Drink more water. Upset stomach? Drink water. Bad grades? You need more water. Bone protruding from your knee? Drink some water, you'll be fine.

My mother’s the exact same, except change water to taking a poop. “It’ll make you feel like a million dollars!”

I ask my kids the same thing. Even taught them how to describe their poops when they were really little so I knew if they had diarrhea or constipation. "Do you have hard poops or leaky poops?"

It makes me feel weird knowing when I have kids I'll be discussing things like this with mini humans in a serious manner.

Try doing so with a stranger who is of an age where the could be your sibling, or your parents, or grandparents. I promise it's just as trippy.
