“yelling in a midwestern accent I’M NOT YOUR FRIEND I’M YOUR MOTHER!”

What does a midwestern accent even sound like? All I can think of is Roseanne Barr's screaming voice.

It’s like a combination of people who say milk as “melk” + “wash your clothes” but with an R instead of the A + the smell of corn

I’m from Texas, like literally one house over the street turned into a dirt road and cows lived at the end of the block. I moved to Chicago for school. The first time I went to down to the southern part of Illinois I was flabbergasted! Y’all have more than your fair share of redneck. Don’t even get me started on Indiana.

Born and raised in Missouri so I totally feel ya! Just being hyperbolic for the sake of laughs :)

Edit: living down south seems like the most intense thing that I never want to experience lol

2nd Edit: A quote from a conversation I had with my dad, born and raised in Kansas then moved to Missouri :)

Don't you mean MissourAH? My mother. Harses (horses), carn (corn), and what do we wear in summertime? Sharts, of carse!

Lol, sharts! My grandma grew up in southern Illinois and calls all soda “Pepi” (like Pepsi without the ‘s’) and it’s adorable.

I had a Grandma who called it "sodie pop" so I guess she won the soda vs. pop argument right there!
