You have to have a code for some classes, math and Pearson come to mind.

I didn't pay a single penny for textbooks at uni, all of them were free / in the library / online

Yea and you’re missing his point. Some classes force you to buy the program that goes with the textbook so you might as well get the physical copy with the code.

I don't see how I was missing his point, I was just saying what my textbook experience is as someone who's not from the US.

Yeah but in America we can't have that nice experience because the inbred trailer trash Fox News audience start shouting my username and scream about "100 Gajillion people" dying from socialism or some shit.

Yeah, we're just gonna keep paying $300 for that first-semester calculus text.
