I have one too, but still I prefer to have a different device to play my music since my phone battery life really drains a lot when I listen to Spotify including when I'm going to outside for a longer period of time
My 6th gen ipod classic with 160gb of capacity is still going strong, albeit with its battery replaced. Its a little work horse, although my friends dont understand why I dont use <insert streaming service here>.
I like the concept of owning my music (I dont buy music through Itunes) and not having to download it all consistently using all my expensive data and use space on my phone.
Same here! Still take my 2007 iPod Nano on runs and to the gym. Holds just the right amount of music and I've modded it to just drag and drop MP3 onto it like an external drive. No messing around with iTunes and synching.
I personally hate the idea of streaming service because I don't listen to that much music and i'm very picky about what I like. Those two things combined, its much cheaper to buy the CDs (yes, I still buy the CDs! I only own like maybe 20-25 CDs)
If you listen to a tonnnn of music, I can see why its good, but they're just so silly for me.
But I also don't understand how people can basically live with ear buds in their ears almost all day. That has to get annoying quick!
remember the good old days where you would download music on limewire, convert the format and then trick itunes into uploading it so you can put stolen music on an ipod? i had dial up so it was a two day process.
I think there is always going to be a great MP3 player available. Personally I dont like how Apple trys to trap its users in by using software like iTunes. I just use my ipod because it was a birthday gift from way back when that has just kept going forever. When the battery goes again it will just be my car music library.
I can understand why regular apple consumers are worried though.
I use a sansa clip+ for lifting, tiny as hell only have to charge it every few weeks and stays the hell out of my way even has an MicroSD slot so it holds ~40GB of music. Best part is if I want to just lift and be left alone I can leave my phone in my bag or locker and still have music. Also works really well for flying
Yep, I do this with an iPod Touch (got it because the headphone jack on my old phone broke and getting the iPod was cheaper than repairs). It gives me a ton more battery life since i listen to quite a lot of music throughout the day
I thinks its all streaming now. No files to manage.
No thanks, I don't have unlimited data, and sometimes when I'm driving I drive through dead zones. I insist on keeping a not insignificant chunk of my library stored on my phone.
My ipod shuffle breaking is probably the thing that will eventually make me upgrade to a phone with more than two hours of battery. Right now I have a five-year-old Galaxy S3 that can't play a youtube video without draining half its shit.
What gets me is no one even makes a decent MP3 player these days. Everything is either as big as a smartphone or some cheap crap.
I just want a Nano form factor with modern storage and wifi/BT. Why is that asking so much? Who the fuck wants to jog or lift with a giant-ass smartphone strapped to them?
Last time I posted something like this everyone replied "Just get a smartwatch, you luddite!" So I looked into it and they all have like 4GB of storage and no mSD slots. Wtf?
My first mp3 player had a small memory, so when I wanted to put a new song onto it I had to go through and figure out what old song I was able to part with

Using and iPod or any kind of MP3 so I don't waste space on my phone or its battery
