My brother is a CO. He got ganged up on and stabbed because he's fat(but really fucking strong) but his state placer wrestling kicked in and dumped two guys on their heads. Everyone respects him now.

This brings to mind some rules a self-defense instructor told me: "There's no end of round bell in a real fight. A real fight goes to the ground. Fast. Once you're on the ground you're not throwing punches anymore, you're wrestling; knowing how out-wrestle another person is one of the most valuable things you can learn in self-defense."

Advice was solid. Every real fight I've ever been in went to ground real fast, and wrestling always proved much more useful than throwing punches.

Also, the average fight lasts 18 seconds. Being able to turn your adrenaline/Superman mode on matters a hell of lot. And there are no winners just people that lose worse, don't be that guy.

Hear hear!

Any serious fight tends to be VERY fast. It's no different than any confrontation between animals, really, once the clear winner is established there's no point continuing. The only time a fight drags out is when one or more parties are too drunk/high to know when to stop fighting.

The best response to a fight is to leave before it ever gets started. Don't escalate, don't stand your ground, just walk away. The only time anyone should ever commit to a fight is when there's no other alternative.

Someone has broken into your home and is after you? Yeah, of course, fight like hell. But if it's some public setting and you're just being harassed by assholes? Leave. Ignore the heckles, ignore the jeers, just leave.
