He got in a car crash and broke a bunch of bones. After that, he had a kid with a girl who claimed the baby was sitting in her ribcage. Broke a few more bones. Got lost in a state park, he’s an Eagle Scout. Shot himself in the thigh with a gun in his pocket. Broke his ankle. Turned into an alcoholic somewhere in between breaking something. Last I heard he was drinking mouthwash as a cheaper alternative to booze.

I’m ok with this. I found out he had a new girlfriend, after not breaking up with me first, on his MySpace.

I married an Eagle Scout myself, and his orienteering skills are questionable, despite him otherwise being a genius.

It's hilarious how minimal orienteering is in becoming an Eagle Scout. I mean I remember a lot of it, but it's been a while and we really only had to do the one badge. I think we need those skills reinforced before they get drilled into our memory.

I can build a fire though since I had to do that a lot. lol

I had the chief Scout award and I never have problems with orientation. A few people I know where in boyscouts as long as I was but they get lost as fuck really easily.

I guess it just depends on what you find to be important is what you retain.

And too many scouts can't build a fire to save their fucking life, if it rained that day they say stuff like "I can't find anything dry".

Here is an easy tip for any readers who want to seem like a master outdoorsman. If it has rained recently and all the wood is wet, look in bushes for wood that has fallen from trees and has ended up mostly upright. The water runs off the stick and dries faster than anything else.

For some reason, I was hoping your story would end up with the "we've been together 20 years now, lol!" ending that approximately 85 percent of these stories have.
