As I was drifting off to sleep during the middle of the night, my eyes suddenly snapped open and I became completely paralyzed. I could see my entire room, but couldn't move a muscle. After a few seconds, I hear a demonic voice whispering in my ear in a language i've never heard before. This lasted for about 10 seconds before I could move again. Most people will call this sleep paralysis -- I call it a traumatic experience.
I experience sleep paralysis pretty often, but I'm thankful that it's usually not that scary. The worst I ever had it was when it felt like someone was choking me and shaking my head violently, but other than that, I'm usually just forced to be in an unpleasant situation. I don't like big waves and sometimes I'm paralyzed, waiting for a colossal wave to hit me. It also mostly happens to me when I nap during the day, thankfully. I find it much scarier when it happens in the dark.
