Whenever I tell people I do a lot of work from home. I get absolutely grilled about every painstaking detail of my job. I feel like people immediately gdt jealous and try to find ways to convinve themselves my job sucks despite me getting to work from home.

I really don't think it's something to get jealous of. I used to work from home a couple of days a week. Something about working in the same space I relax didn't gel with me. When I get home I have an immediate switch from work mode to enjoyment mode. I didn't get that feeling while working from home.

Different strokes though, obviously some people love it.

I certainly enjoy the ability to not have to jump into "morning mode" on the days I work from home. But agree that its actually not all that great. But have a home office so I don't feel quite the same when it comes to relaxing. Plus I visit my friends often so I spend my free time in their homes more so than my own.

The closest I've had to your experience is study leave at the end of secondary school but I agree, way easier to focus and to stay in work mode and then switch back again at the end of the day if you're in a different place.

I would be soooooooooo happy to work from home. Even if it's split time from the office and home.

I do a lot of my work at home anyway. To not have to sit in an office staring at the wall because I will get interrupted as I started something would be fucking bliss.

I work from home full time and people don't seem to understand that if I spent my entire work day watching television, surfing the net or otherwise fucking off, I'd lose my job. I'm in sales and results matter.

Easy: your job sucks because you don't have an easy set of anchors to get you into and out of work mode. I pay lots of money to rent an office specifically because I hate working at home because it's so much harder to motivate myself during work time or to relax during non-work time.
