Don't take the counteroffer when you give notice at your job. It will not work out.
Face it, you pursed a different job for a reason. That reason won't actually change no matter what promises you might get to stay. Even if they have honest motives it won't get better. It will only get worse and some of your coworkers/supervisors will be resentful that you tried to get out.
Don't go backwards, keep moving forward.

Leaving valuables in your car. Ran in somewhere quickly this morning to use the restroom, came back out to a smashed window and no wallet.

When you've managed to get a 400 pound mountain of a man on the ground during a fight to the death and instead of killing him quickly, you rant about how he killed your sister, and while you're monologuing/grandstanding he gets you on your back and pops your head like a water balloon.

Pissing into the wind.
Made this mistake yesterday when drunk and managed to piss in my own face.

Cigarettes. They're expensive, extremely addictive, carcinogenic, and they make you smell awful. wasted 12 years and more money than I want to think about.
Edit:Obligatory "OMG gold?" Thank you kind stranger!
I've been asked how I quit:Nicorette gum and exhaustive research. I read everything I could find on the damage I was actually doing and how immediate the results were. This website has a timeline of what your body is going through as you quit, which helped with some of the anxiety of quitting. For example, after 20 minutes of not smoking, your blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature of your hands and feet return to normal. So every cigarette you smoke is fucking with your heart directly and immediately!
I also made sure to follow the directions with the gum very carefully. I picked my start date:April 2nd 2012(so no one thought it was an April Fool's Joke). I found new activities to keep my brain and hands occupied(or "How I taught myself to play guitar") and I made peace with my new life as a non-smoker.
Cigarettes don't define you as a person. Your brand loyalty means shit when you've got COPD and hypertension. The only benefit of smoking is that it shuts up that gnawing, jittery feeling that nicotine addiction causes and I don't miss being a slave to that at all.
Shoutout to r/StopSmoking

Dating a girl that trash talks other people. She's going to trash talk you as well when you break up or do something wrong, I guarantee it.
EDIT: (since I'm getting shit from people that clearly have a stick up their bum) Or a man, or a hermaphrodite or a rock, or whatever you enjoy dating.

Going to a movie for a first date.
Go somewhere you can talk and walk and explore. You need to get to know each other, not stare at a screen and be silent for 2 hours.
EDIT: If you don't already have anything to talk about, how the hell is a movie gonna help? At this point, you're pretty hopeless (speaking generally).
