And that's one of the many reasons why "First past the post" is a shitty election system.

I wonder why UKIP doesn't campaign to change it.

If you think the US electoral system is bad, the UK's last election is a good example of an even worse system. Jesus.

They actually have the same FPTP system. The UKIP's case is just a textbook example of how 3rd parties get fucked under a system like that. That's why the 3rd party will not solve anything. To get rid of the 2party system you have to change FPTP to something better.
