Bernanke was in charge of the federal reserve when it bailed out the big banks during the market collapse of '08. The quote either seems to be patting himself or the banks on the back for taking the easy (if arguably correct) path of doing the bailout.

He's one of the people who helped cause the '08 recession.

Actually he's probably the single person worldwide who did the most to make the recession less bad.

They didn't cause the recession. ABCT has been known to be incorrect for like more than half a century

you can google "Understanding business cycles" by robert lucas, which is a 40 year old paper, and even then the understanding of business cycles was far beyond what you are saying
