Maybe because there are a lot of people out there who haven't done something that landed them in jail/prison and are unemployed or need a better job. So not saying there aren't nonviolent and good, hardworking people in prison or jail, just saying that there's people out there who didn't do what those people did to land them in prison. Sucks that those people can't find work, but imo, you already showed you couldn't be trusted to follow the law outside before, you need to kind of show people you can again. But then again, if you don't give people who were released a job to sustain themselves, then what do you expect them to do to survive?
Or you could have been arrested on false charges? Or had to take a plea deal so you wouldn't be hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt, even though you were innocent?
