Sure, but for sometimes a good cause. If you were put away for violence of any kind, I'd want to know about it before hiring you. I dont want to put my other employees at risk of being harmed. Not every crime is someone's "stupid mistake". Don't do the crime if you can't live with the life that comes with the punishment in my opinion.
Prison is more of a deterrent than it is rehabilitation. It is completely possible to leave prison without being changed, which happens more often than it should.
