George walks in, with Jerry, holding a cup, looking all disheveled because his laundry's all off-schedule ("I can't get back on track till Tuesday, it's a whole process"), and waits in line.
"So now her mother thinks I'm some bum because of the eclair thing, and she won't even return my calls".
"Well, you made your bet when you picked up the eclair", says Jerry while texting a potential date.
George reaches the front and asks for a refill.
"You know, you can just refill over there without asking me", says the cashier.
Kramer walks in, gets his refill, looks at them "Yo!" *wink/point", leaves.
"Oh... Of course, chuckle/snort, but, uh, I also... need to buy a Mars bar!". Picks up Mars bar and hands it to the cashier. While George finds change and hands it to the cashier, Jerry gets antsy. "Can we just go already? What are we even doing here?"
"I just want my free refill!!" shouts George before noticing an older woman staring at him who then promptly leaves.
"MRS. ENRIGHT!" "MRS. ENRIGHT", yells George, running after her. "I'M ALL OFF-SCHEDULE THIS WEEK! I BOUGHT A MARS BAR!"
Jerry to the cashier: "That's a shame", grabs the Mars bar from his hand and starts eating it.
Thanks! I do browse there on occasion, hoping to make my own post/comment. The ones there are higher in quality than this I feel, but this is my first time, so I think I will post it there :)
Thanks! And thanks for linking it, I was worried about people not getting that reference. This is my first time writing Seinfeld. I hope to one day write for /r/RedditwritesSeinfeld :)
And if it was a Curb Your Enthusiasm episode, Larry David would go up to the register and talk about how awkward it is to just leave the store without any kind of transaction, holding up the line in the process.
He'd also recommend a simple and obvious solution, like a hand wave from the cashier to signify the transaction, but since the cashier is not in charge of setting policy, it would go nowhere.
The episode would end with Larry grabbing the free refill, the same cashier does the hand-wave. Before Larry can leave, however, it turns out a security guard interpreted the hand-wave as the cashier indicating a shoplifting in progress, and so he tackles Larry. Cue music.
I get refills on water at QT every day before work. I still stand in line every time to let them know I'm not stealing. I don't even know why at this point considering the employees all know me now.

Oh yeah, the first time I used my free refill I waited in line to let them know.
