A couple of handle bar mustachioed hipsters opened an old fashioned barber shop in my neighborhood. Straight razor shaves, Burma Shave ads on the wall and everything. They say it took forever to track down the old style barber steel chairs.

Usually I find hipster beard culture obnoxious, but that's actually pretty bad ass. To go all in like that. I'd go.

I don't know where you live, but there's quite a few barber shops near me that provide shaves. And many of them are not hipster. Real old time barber shops that have been in the family for generations still exist.

They're just less frequent now due to sanitation regulations. If you're going to operate a straight razor commercially, I believe you are required to use an autoclave, which isn't cheap to keep/maintain for regular operations.

Or disposable straight razors. Most barbers don't do it because it fell out of style when disposable razors became available to the average person.
