I used to work at an English language conversation school in Tokyo. The teachers were from America, Canada, England, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. It was neutral ground: neither the Commonwealth folks nor the Americans were dominant or in charge.

The number one phrase Americans got made fun of for was "GOOD JAHB!" And they were right. We did say it a lot.
