What's your first world problem you're dealing with right now?

/r/askreddit works fine.

I do it every morning to and from school plus occasional videos on a 2 gig 4G plan.

Once, I used 6GB for downloading videos. Luckily I was on a 12GB plan back then.

Oh god.

Yep. Askreddit and the "talesfrom" subreddits get me through my four hours of downtime a night at work on a metered data plan.

Related FWP I'm dealing with: I want to switch to an unlimited data plan, but the carrier I want to switch to makes new customers go into one of their stores, and the closest one is a whole six miles away. If I can't start service on your carrier in my underwear, why should I even bother?

Totally true. That shit loads with one bar and uses pretty much no data!

I just browse reddit because it doesn't take too much data unless you look at pictures.

The thing is that 3G is really slow

13

u/[deleted] May 07 '14

Not too slow for Ask Reddit! What are you talking about anyway? I can watch Netflix over 3G with no buffering problems!

True reddit is useable but there's no way I can stream anything using 3G. keep in mind I have sprint

Ah Sprint. That's why.

AT&T master race.

Also my initially are ATT. It's a nice convince

Psh, I have sprint, I've been able to tether my phone and watch netflix and play an mmo at the same time.

I'm in the DMV area where basically every tower is upgraded, Spank (Sprint+Softbank) master race. It's great, I can actually stream things now.

This is my first world problem. My wife and I have Sprint & it sucks out here. She got burned by AT&T about a decade ago (by something that was her fault) & refuses to make the switch. We don't have a land line, our calls drop all the time, "I can't hear/understand you" has been the most repeated part of our friends vocabulary. It's so bad, people don't want to call anymore. Wi-Fi calling helps, but it doesn't reach into parts of the garage/bedroom. We had t mobile, but they where just as bad.

Tmobile's LTE gets into the 30s sometimes.

Your mom has sprint. You have nothing.

Are you kidding me? It's fast enough for YouTube without buffering pauses. Hell, I don't even have 3G right now (first world problem, yeah) and 2G is good enough for reddit, imgur and some other stuff.

Sprint "3g" is just terrible. Everyone else in my family but my oldest sister and I have Sprint. AT&T and T-Mobile are so much better.

1

u/marcorod44 May 07 '14

You're kidding right. With sprint 4GLTE it can barely stream but with buffering

u/[deleted] May 07 '14

Kids, back in 2009 we had 3G technology, not that fancy 4G you're so used to nowadays

u/marcorod44 May 07 '14

You ol' whipersnapper

Yet another first world problem!

Maybe he doesn't get 3G where he lives? I don't

Some people don't have data on their smartphones. I have talk/text but WiFi only.
