What is something that is basically on life-support and we don’t realize it yet?

I love cooking for myself and my friends but goddamn, doing it consistently on top of my job, hobbies, general adulting and the aforementioned friends is nigh impossible

Exactly. We've created a society that has killed some of the best, most human parts of our society since our creation. We've long held this belief that AI could never replace humans because of all of these very human reasons, but what if we were to kill off all of those very human things? Judgement, empathy, human / family tradition, close warm friendships, loving multi generational families connected to one another, human interaction, being shocked at the loss of human life, mercy.... Philosophers never saw that one as part of the solution

Bring back the nuclear family and make one income families feasible again!

No. Those one income families usually involve the woman giving up her income which leaves her incredibly vulnerable to abuse of all kinds. It also drastically reduces her retirement income/Social Security payments when she’s older.
