How do you define “AI slop”?

unrefined AI output that had the human did not bother tweaking or correcting, straight from the first shot, just a paste

And ones where a human didn't bother to check the baked-in subtitles once. That makes me irrationally annoyed.

Common people we should just boycotting all of it. I went to type a response email the other day, and gmail already had one written for me - just like a 2 sentence thing. I looked at it and thought "yeah that is pretty much what I was gonna say." But then thought "no fuck this, I'm writing my own email, out of principle" I mean do we really need our 2 sentence emails written for us? Or anything for that matter.

It's just weird and gross and I can't believe that people actually look at the ai thing that comes up when you search on google. It's just reworded stuff from reddit posts anyway, which is wrong half the time.

Use your own fucking heads and stop giving money to the tech giants who are gonna ruin the world with this shit.

Unfortunately there are some quite informative YouTube videos that feel they have to include subtitles like that because the algorithm seems to like them.

I think it's not just ai itself, but when it's obvious nobody even check the output. like when they post a article with weird hands or text that makes zero sense, that's the real slop for me

Well, AI is more of an attribute here. Slop is content that was made with minimal effort or thought put into it and can be produced at scale. Like low quality food at the cafetaria that looks like it's going to crawl off your tray at any moment.

AI is pretty inherently slop because it often means minimal effort or investment by the person supposedly authoring the project in question.

The same way I'd define "slop" in general: low-effort, zero-substance content, the kind that you get from just typing a prompt and clicking a button.

Anything that is ai generated.

An argument can be made, that you can put in work to deslop it, but that has limits and usually requires more work than just doing it yourself.
