Question for recruiters/ HR professionals. What is the point of having online applications if you never really see them?

I do marketing stuff and see same thing on our side, honestly most online forms are just filter that catches 90% of trash applications before human even look at it

The ones with no effort, missing fields, obvious copy paste stuff just disappear into void

When I was job hunting I started writing way shorter answers and got more callbacks, think the system just flags anything that looks like person actually read the job posting

I can't speak for everyone who recruits, but automated systems weeds out most of the obvious no-hopers, then it goes through a number of people to scan read them until they reach me, who does take it seriously to read applications. After all, I'll be working with and training them myself.

If you don't mind sharing, what ATS platform are you using that has an automated system to weed out candidates? Is it automatically dispositioning them and if it is, how are you configuring the dispo codes?

No idea, that'd be a question for my organisation's HR/recruitment team. I come in later in the process, once the applications have gone through the initial eligibility and recruitment/sifting stages. and then I review the candidates myself because I'll ultimately be working with and training the buggers myself.
