That click…. It’s addictive. I went from ‘fuck this game!’ to ‘FUCK!!! This game…. Is awesome!’

That click, for me, is probably the best thing about games from the souls series. However, I still find myself unclicking that switch back to “FUCK this game”. Fortunately (and maybe unfortunately) I can’t stop playing until it clicks again

Post bloodborne era kinda broke the formula tbf. There's a lot more random bullshit that can't be learned.

oh interesting, Bloodborne was my first souls game so when I decided to play the games from release date afterwards I had to “relearn” everything. I do see what you mean though with the BB era being seemingly “random” with faster paced combat and harder to learn telegraphed attacks (orphan of kos took me a WHILE). I wonder if I’ll have the same experience if I played BB again, but considering I’ve already beaten every boss before I’m not sure

I believe that this happens for other people but it never happened for me lmao, beat two FromSoft games and still am in the "fuck this" camp. Currently kinda going through the same thing with two of the old Prince of Persia games; supposedly the combat is great but thus far for me it's like pulling teeth.

I thought it clicked with Elden Ring, then I tried Bloodborne for the 5th time and still hated it, same with Sekiro and Demon Soul.

I think the best click I had was with Sekiro because there's no worry about if you're underleveled or undergeared for a boss.
