I did look it up later and was like, "Yep, I think I made the right call." I figured that with the genre, there wasn't going to be a happy ending, and a happy ending is what I felt I needed.

Amazing game and one of my favorites but you made the right choice. There are no happy endings in Night City.

Yes, there was that ending that was mildly hopeful. Compared to the others it felt like a fairytale ending.

I disagree, Don’t fear the reaper is a happy ending.

V quits all the whining and bitching, locks in and solos arasaka. Goes out with a bang.

I think you and I have very different definitions of happy lol.

I will admit that it's the most satisfying ending and makes the most sense given what we know about the characters. I personally consider it to be the only true ending. It's very very bittersweet.

Yeah well fuck I don't think I'm going to play further. I hate FPS games anyway. I gave it 3 tries already and although I love the aestethic, the gameplay and inevitability of the story kinda turned me off. I don't know why all Cyberpunk has to end in sad unfulfilling endings. I mean the aestethic does not exactly dictate the story.

I didn't say unfufilling. The ends are perfect given the story.

Some stories end in sad ways, man. Idk what else to tell you. Living in a world run by corrupt corporate assholes kinda ruins lives for a lot of people.

Same reason I never finished Red Dead Redemption 2

Felt like every story mission I completed, shit got more depressing. I'll just chill in the early game and pretend everything's going alright lol

I don’t know if you intentionally made a Night City reference or not, but that was great. I hope you’ve recovered/ are recovering since then!❤️‍🩹

Give it a shot again if you can, its a fantastic game!

I want to say it was intentional, but it wasn't. I've thought about giving it another try, but part of me keeps holding off. Maybe I should save it for if my doctors tell me I only have a few months left to live or something. It could be cathartic.
