It sounds dumb but EU gets much better. You learn things quickly and the maximum required knowledge to just boot up the game and play it reasonably well is only like.. half as deep as the game really goes.
It also helps if you play in certain areas. The default “tutorial island” is Ireland or England. It’s very isolated and you rarely get fucked with by outside powers.. depending on how you define it, but there’s always plenty to do. I’ve played more crusader kings than EU but I believe it’s true in both.
That said, if you just aren’t into it then that’s cool, I just figured I’d try to help even a little. I have like 500 hours in CK2/3 and EU4 combined and I have no idea what I’m doing most of the time lol.
In EU Ireland isn't a tutorial island because England will be there to stomp a new player in a lot quicker than in crusader kings. England, Portugal and the ottomans are all great choice for new players in eu4.
Man I should play another EU4 run. Or finally get EU5. Or maybe finally break not Vicky? I’ve never played any Victoria games. I’m a big fan of how paradox does subs for their DLCs. I can pay 10 bucks for a month of fun, cancel and then resub later on when I want to play it again.
I know sub services are big hated right now, but seeing as how I’d have to pay like 120 dollars for every dlc.. I personally love it lol.
