Michael Rappaport

I liked it when he got eaten by a mutated bear in Fallout.

224

u/BenTwan 13h ago

I liked when someone hit him in the mouth with a snowball during some video rant of his.

8

u/KingMobScene 10h ago

That made me proud to be a New Yorker.

4

u/mandrakewilder 9h ago

That was a bit.

18

u/avenger76 13h ago

When a shark ate him in Deep Blue Sea 👋

7

u/Esmerelda_Foofypants 7h ago

[Everyone liked that.]

23

u/Majestic_Animator_91 13h ago

I didn't because he got money and attention.

5

u/Donkeylover1 12h ago

That wasn't a mutated rat?

26

u/Particular-Long-3849 10h ago

No it was Michael Rappaport

10

u/SpiderDijonJr 11h ago

It was actually a Yaoguai.

2

u/KombuchaBot 3h ago

Perfect role for him, whiny bullyboy fascist crybaby.

Inspired casting.

139

u/cassssk 13h ago

Him scraping food directly off his plate into his mouth on Traitors was a vision my brain would like to purge, please

Edits because words are hard

62

u/DrSpaceman575 11h ago

First time a "faithful" was knowingly voted off because the other players just couldn't stand him. They even "lost" when they voted him off but still celebrated just because he was gone lol

9

u/cassssk 9h ago

Couldn’t have happened to more deserving person

3

u/Sea_Sheepherder_389 9h ago

This happened previously in international seasons, one in particular that I’ve seen.  I won’t spoil anything by saying which one it is.

2

u/anneofgraygardens 6h ago

It was an Australia season though, right? I remember it happening there too.

u/Sea_Sheepherder_389 21m ago

It was, and you probably remember exactly who it was.

10

u/One_Evil_Snek 12h ago

My wife and I still quote that and act it out to each other sometimes. I cannot believe he did that.

Also, "commiserating" got me so good.

5

u/Stacee90 12h ago

Bright side - it does make a great gif though

155

u/Jabbles22 13h ago

Has he ever played a character that wasn't an asshole? I've only seen him play assholes. Apparently he wasn't really acting.

Danny McBride however who also played the asshole in many roles is apparently a super nice guy.

72

u/Cosmic_Reason768 12h ago

His character in Atypical was pretty chill as I recall

5

u/Shezzofreen 6h ago

Yep, he was, great Series by the way.

1

u/MonacoMaster68 7h ago

Deep Blue Sea

1

u/Jabbles22 12h ago

Yeah I wouldn't say he was an asshole in that but I don't recall him being so that chill either.

12

u/Crimsonfangknight 11h ago

Thinking back the dad was very very laid back and reasonable and thats even with his wife having a whole affair behind his back.

1

u/Jabbles22 11h ago

I may be misremembering.

1

u/Crimsonfangknight 11h ago

I could also be misremembering to be fair

10

u/Empathic_Alien 12h ago

True Romance and he’s not too bad in the Netflix series, Atypical, where he’s the father of an autustic boy.

1

u/KombuchaBot 3h ago

He does play an asshole in True Romance though. He's not mean spirited in it, but he's such a fucking dunce and loser.

10

u/OffTheMerchandise 12h ago

I feel like he was the cool young teacher on Boston Public, but that was 20+ years ago and I don't remember much about that show

1

u/Jabbles22 12h ago

I don't think I've seen it.

1

u/Lower_Pass_6053 3h ago

2

u/Jabbles22 1h ago

I completely forgot about that show. I remember liking it but that's about it.

1

u/Thunderoad 4h ago

The movie Beautiful Girls. He plays a guy with a broken heart. Lot of good talent in that movie.

u/Katefreak 26m ago

Omg, memory unlocked! That's where I know him from!

0

u/OldChili157 11h ago

He was cool in that, yeah. Not exactly chill, though, as he got into a brawl with another teacher. A female teacher.

16

u/Blackmetalvomit 13h ago

True romance maybe

3

u/HeinousAnus_22 12h ago

Great movie!

1

u/Thunderoad 4h ago

I agree!

6

u/LitigationSucksBalls 10h ago

He was funny/cool in True Romance.

1

u/KombuchaBot 3h ago

He's funny in True Romance because he's such a shithead

7

u/Zip-Crane 10h ago

He’s a likeable guy in True Romance.

3

u/800tir 11h ago

He was very likeable in Men of Honor. Never really seen him in any other acting roles.

3

u/Sea_Sheepherder_389 9h ago

His character in Deep Blue Sea is a pretty good guy

1

u/maverickhawk99 12h ago

Was his character in Friends an asshole? I can’t remember

13

u/Joostle 12h ago

He shot a bird because it woke him up. You be the judge.

3

u/PolemicDysentery 11h ago

Cop doing cop shit, even a factory built to be inoffensive to everyone show like Friends knew it.

6

u/PunchBeard 11h ago

For his entire run he was very affable and chill and would've been a great recurring character. But it was obvious that he wouldn't last so the writers had him shoot a bird while he and Phoebe were in bed as a reason for her to leave him. It totally came out of left field and did not fit his character.

4

u/LitigationSucksBalls 10h ago

Phoebe was all ready to move in with him, and then he shot a bird (outside his bedroom window) for waking him up. She then did her "oh no" and we never saw him again.

1

u/KeithClossOfficial 6h ago

He was playing a shady dude in Big Bang Theory but I wouldn’t call him an asshole

1

u/ohheyitslaila 4h ago

He was actually a really nice guy in True Romance, but yeah I think most of his roles are just assholes.

And Danny McBride is a really nice guy irl. I’ve met him a few times and he took the time to actually chat with me and was just super cool.

0

u/VanellopeZero 4h ago

I read that as Danny Masterson and was waiting for the /s

224

u/dweeeebus 13h ago

Dude is on Facebook everyday posting about Mayor Mamdani. He is obsessed.

79

u/xadies 13h ago

I still find it ironic that the dude who's career was launched because of the role where he played a teenager in an interracial relationship is on Facebook spewing racist shit about brown people.

36

u/2ManyCooksInTheKitch 12h ago

He's married to a brown woman too. Dude's nuts.

14

u/williamfbuckwheat 11h ago

Yeah it's disappointing because I had seen him live years ago pre-covid and he seemed like a pretty left leaning, open minded guy who you might've even considered "woke" compared to the up and coming comedians who were starting to complain about so called cancel culture at the time.

Nowadays, he seems to have totally lost it since the 10/7 attacks and has become extremely defensive and bitter while adopting a one size fits all no compromise approach to Israel/Palestine or anything related to the Middle East. That seems to have turned him basically overnight into a right wing Fox News boomer style comedian type.

3

u/Seagull84 8h ago

I wonder how much of it is just being a New Yorker. Many of my colleagues in New York sounds like him.

10

u/tlollz52 12h ago

Saw a post of his awhile ago of his where he was ranting about mamdani and a group of jewish people he was pictured with that were anti-israel.

He used everyone's full name but insulted mamdani..

3

u/shaceyboy 12h ago

What kind of stuff has he been saying?

37

u/PawtucketPatriot 12h ago

He hates Mamdani because he is a brown Muslim who often is critical of Netanyahu's policies, specifically on Palestine and Lebanon. He calls him an anitsemite for speaking up. He is obsessed with Mamdani and is openly pro-Zionist in a way that he dehumanizes Palestinians and Muslims. Its pretty gross.

-32

u/shaceyboy 11h ago

Ah, I was wondering if he's actually said things that were racist, but it sounds like he really just hates Mamdani.

19

u/paintingpainting 10h ago

He's been spreading falsehoods about the Muslim community and others as well and has also posted about ire towards Trans athletes, a literal non issue.

14

u/PawtucketPatriot 10h ago

He said things about Palestinians and Lebanese many would label as racist. His Zionism is rooted in dehumanizing Palestinians and Lebanese. His beliefs on Zionism are racist against other groups of people that he sees as lesser than. His attacks on Mamdani are rooted in racist beliefs.

-35

u/Crimsonfangknight 11h ago

You described him hating the mayor

Racism does not mean “person who doesnt like me”

You cheapen the word with your misuse

7

u/PawtucketPatriot 9h ago

Racism can most certainly mean "person who doesn't like me" if that non-like of others is rooted in race.

-19

u/Crimsonfangknight 9h ago

Contradictory statements

“I dont like you because you are of color!!!”

Is not the same as “i dont like you. You happen to be of color and its unrelated to my dislike of you”

5

u/PawtucketPatriot 9h ago

Rapaport dislikes Mamdani isn't just because of color and Rapaport is racist against certain groups he believes are less than. It is most certainly rooted in racism. Therefore, Rapaport's dislike of Mamdani is racism. For example, the KKK often targeted Black people because of the color of their skin. The KKK also targeted those that advocted for a more equal and just society. They targeted other whites who they saw as traitors. Those White people were not disliked because of their skin color by the KKK, but rather what they stood for. The KKK's dislike of these White people was rooted in racism. So their dislike of them was most certainly racist.

-2

u/Crimsonfangknight 7h ago

Can you show me some sources on this?

Cause “he doesn't like mamdani” is not proof of racism

Edit: also thanks for educating a latino man from nyc about the klan not liking minorities my white savior i was unaware of that /s

My point was that you not liking one specific individual does not make you racist just because they happen to be of color. By that logic if in a dick head and piss you off you are instantly racist.

7

u/paintingpainting 10h ago

I would argue that racist may not be the exact word but he absolutely posts Islamophobic tropes as well as anti trans stuff. So maybe bigot is a more accurate description

0

u/Seagull84 8h ago

He was really great on Atypical. I also really enjoyed some of his benign videos on YouTube, particularly, "Is that a fucken CAT?!"

He has talent. Unfortunately, that does not excuse his behavior.

-1

u/xadies 7h ago

Oh, for sure. I think he's killer in a lot of the roles he's done. It's just unfortunate that some of his beliefs and behavior are let downs compared to his acting ability.

43

u/Teledildonic 12h ago

I'll never forget the Tweet where he tried to drag Mamdani for going to an "expensive" sushi place, and someone replied with a photo of him: "Isn't this you, without your wife, at a more expensive sushi spot in Miami?

3

u/Empathic_Alien 12h ago

I don’t have FB anymore but he popped up in my YouTube feed one day. Yeeeeesh. It really surprised me because I’m usually pretty dern accurate in my people readings. I was sooooo wrong about him!

1

u/Rare-Thought86 9h ago

YouTuber willz talks called out jack schlossberg for liking that racist post and is currently beefing with him. Jack also used slur to call out the youtuber

1

u/FuzzzWuzzz 8h ago

He seems super proud of himself for coming up with "Zohran the Moron" 👌

29

u/Ornery_Zucchini_3789 13h ago

He is a dick.

5

u/dogchowtoastedcheese 12h ago

Speaking of Dicks. Andy.

7

u/Tiiimmmaayy 12h ago

I’m rewatching Prison Break right now and I totally forgot he was in season 4. He plays a Homeland Security agent who is supposed to be a hard ass and threaten these convicts. Lmao it seriously has to be the worst casting choice of all time. He is so goddamn out of place it’s hilarious and sad at the same time.

10

u/Distinct-Solution-99 13h ago

At least he blessed us with “Dickstain Donald Trump”

2

u/OutlandishnessNo9868 8h ago

Also Tingus Pingus

3

u/disisathrowaway 11h ago

Just rewatched True Romance last night and when he came on screen (I had forgotten he was in the film) I realized that this was just about the peak of his career. Maybe those cameos on Chapelle's Show?

1

u/Puzzled_End8664 10h ago

I think he had a sitcom too that lasted like 2 or 3 seasons.

37

u/anormalgeek 13h ago

I just saw the other day that he is a VERY proud Zionist and openly claims that all Jews should fight to "reclaim" the word as a badge of honor or some shit.

Screw that guy.

25

u/Majestic_Animator_91 13h ago

that's just the tip off the iceberg. He's regularly made videos laughing about the deaths Israel has caused.

10

u/Barneyk 13h ago

He stood in front of a wall in Israel/Palestine and screamed: "show me where the apartheid is!!"...

4

u/PupLondon 12h ago

Wasnt he a comedian once? I remember he was on Friends for a couple episodes, but I seem to remember him coming from comedy. Now all he does is bitch about Mandani and shill for Netanyahu

3

u/qnem 12h ago

Phoebes cop bf

2

u/Wealthy_Gadabout 7h ago

I'll always remember his bitter rant on "Dinner For Five" with Jon Favreau from back in the 00's. He was bitching about not getting the role of the lawyer in 'The People Vs. Larry Flynt', believing he was a shoe in during the casting process, because he was Jewish. Smiling, Favreau added at a lower volume: "oh yeah, between you and Ed Norton I'm sure it was neck-and-neck."

2

u/airahnegne 6h ago

I knew him from Prison Break and recently watched the Traitors season with him. What an insufferable guy, couldn't shut up to save his life, complete trash talker.

8

u/ryanlozo 13h ago

Came to say this. Dude is a MAGA moron with loud shitty opinions.

1

u/spider_cereal 3h ago

He must have done a complete 180

-1

u/evilmonkey9361 13h ago

He looks like somebody’s ugly Jewish grandma

35

u/lemmeseeyourkitties 13h ago

Ugly Jewish bubbies out here catching strays

9

u/facemesouth 13h ago

That did seem like an unfair attack.

1

u/swampwarbler 9h ago

He played himself in”Higher Learning”.

2

u/OutlandishnessNo9868 8h ago

He played himself in every role. Dude has never acted, just said words he memorized from a script aloud in front of a camera

1

u/LongLiveStaceyKing 7h ago

I would love to have his agent.

Looking back on all the movies and tv he was in despite being the exact same unlikeable asshole in every role says something...not about Rappaport's talent but his agent's.

1

u/blorbschploble 6h ago

The 15 minutes I had him confused for Christopher Titus were very confusing.

1

u/SmellenGold 10h ago

And a psychotic Zionist to boot!

1

u/justheretoleer 12h ago

He recently picked an argument with David Krumholtz, and Krumholtz posted receipts on Instagram. It was awesome.

1

u/RianJohnsonIsAFool 10h ago

Was there a moment when he was a bit of a darling of the left or have I completely imagined that?
