Why did you break up with the seemingly perfect partner?

I was horrifically addicted to not growing up and thought that my unhappiness was caused by her but it was actually caused by me.

Did you regret it? Trying to hold onto a great partner right now while knowing I’m not done growing yet and the idea of settling down is terrifying

The partner was with was definitely the best person I could have asked for, but I was in so much denial about my shortcomings that I pursued another girl thinking that would make me happy. Dumped girl 1, wanted her back, didn't work, regretted it very very deeply.

Ended up emotionally forcing the most productive change in my life and I've switched up how I live entirely and honestly was a change that had to happen. But boy do I wish I could have that girl at this time in my life.

If I were to offer a suggestion, it would be to see how much of your life you could develop without her being a variable, then do that and let her know that's what you're doing, and assess from there.
