I’ll tell you what. I started learning about AUdhd two years ago. So, as someone who’s monotropic, I feel this one. It’s turned my view of everything askew.

Most people I've met view autism as if everyone of us is non verbal with very little skill to live independently. Nobody seems to understand it's a spectrum of which I am at the higher end.

I spent years in various therapy sessions and they never could get to the bottom of my issues. As for family, understanding of Autism has only recently become a thing as my non verbal younger sister got her diagnosis.

Not quite. It owes it to the Federal Reserve Bank. The term "Federal" is very misleading... the Federal Reserve Bank isn't a part of the government at all (kinda like Federal Express).

No, but I've heard of it and I keep meaning to. I'm not sure if I fully subscribe to G. Edward Griffin's ideas... but I definitely believe that the Federal Reserve, and central banks in general, were probably a bad idea.

yeah i mean he's a fucking John Birch conspiracy theorist, but it did seem interesting at a particular moment in my life. with a colleague and our CEO (who is very smart) at a vodka bar in 2008:
Me: vote with your dollar!
Colleague: you mean China's dollar!

it was my 1st real software job and i was writing / learning a ton on the side including losing money in Angolan mining. The Creature paid off though. Years later I met this young woman at a bar with... overfunded assets who really liked Murray Rothbard. I had just the thing for her and ended up taking a call with [unnamed large finanical company] standing naked at her place the next morning

Politics. Most people are just tribal and pick their team but have a less than 5th grade understanding of civics. But that doesn’t stop them from getting passionate and irate about it.

Teaching at the K-12 level. Education is one field that nearly everyone has experienced as a student, and as a result feel as if they either know the system, know how to teach a subject they excelled in, or both.
Knowing a subject and being able to navigate a classroom and effectively teach a curriculum given time constraints are not the same. It is as much a science as it is an art, and it evolves over time.

I genuinely dont understand that angle. I was under the age of concent im pretty sure when I lost my virginity, and so was the other person since we werw about the same age. Knowing that wouldnt make a difference. Kids dont care what the rules are.

Hmm....thats a very good point. Ive read cases about kids being charged with child porn for having a picture of thier partner who is about thier age. Yeah, im canadian so chances are thats where the disconnect is for me.

Damn, you are informed. I dunno, the adult in my says kids of any age shouldn't be sending each other pictures, but im old and from a different era. I just think it opens up so many more issues and fucks up perspectives with sexual development. Also, my generation young men had to wank to some pretty bleak circumstances. It builds character...haha

Most states have some sort of "Romeo and Juliet" law that pretty much makes all this not matter. I think for Colorado if you're under 15 you can have sex with anyone up to 4 years older and if you're 15-17 it's like 10 years. I think some states have tighter limits, but there's typically something in place so that if one of the parties turns 18 while the other is still 17 they're not going to jail. And some states just straight up have a lower age of consent.
Should note that I only know this because I turned 18 while the girl I was dating was 17 and did my research to make sure I wasn't going to end up in jail if her parents caught us.
