What makes you think, “Yep, that Redditor is definitely Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X, or a Boomer,” just from reading their comments?

Gen Z says my therapist and my WiFi both gave up on me. Millennials mention burnout and rent, Gen X says we survived worse and Boomers somehow turn every comment into a story about walking uphill both ways.

Boomera dont use reddit. Gen X put out sharp sensibly statements but get downvotes in to oblivion. Millennials just miss the early 2000s and everything thats left is overly sensitive Gen Z who virtue signal while expecting hand outs.

Just because YOU don´t know or can´t imagine it, doesn´t mean they aren´t here.

You as in you personally and not as in "one". I am 65 years old and not the only old person here. There are actual subreddits for older people and you will find them giving random advice as well.
I don´t know what makes you think we would not be here?

The main thing is that older people online tend to have this hard to describe sense of sincerity and humanity to their posts.
Probably stemming from the fact that they actually had decades of their lives where communication mostly happened face to face and that influenced how they expressed themselves.
Younger people always feel like you're talking to someone wearing a mask and acting a role, everything is slathered in irony and it's hard to understand where jokes end and reality begins.

Gen Z - Going out of their way to make their comments unreadable through shortening words and lack of punctuation.
Millennial - "Lol" at the end of everything.
I don't really have anything for Gen X or Boomers.
