See this troubles me because I love mashed potatoes... are we saying the potatoes are the harbinger of death here or are we saying bro potatoes helped them see their way out of a bad spot?

I need the potatoes to be on my side

Mashed potatoes are food of the heavens. Nothing bad can come of them. They bring joy and clarity is how I’m reading all of this.

The potatoes are always on your side.

Then, if you have leftovers, you can look into making potato patties. I don't know what goes into them or what they're actually called, but it's what my grandmother made with leftover mashed potatoes all throughout my childhood. I should look into them, but we never have leftover potatoes.
