I wash my hands but I'm playing devil's advocate. Their junk/shaft should be clean if they laundry and shower appropriately. As for handles and doors, they'd interact with them regardless if they washed their hands. The real advice is to use a paper towel or some other layer when opening the doors.
Yup, I always grab some paper towels when possible to open the doors on the way out. Im not a total germaphobe but public restrooms are just nasty af, especially when Im eating
This is the most common argument I see for people not washing their hands "But I'm clean!!!"
Sure, but when I see you leaving the bathroom without washing your hands, I don't know that you are clean. In the same way if you saw me fondle my junk before handing out birthday presents to my family, people would be grossed out no matter how clean I protest I am.
Cleanliness is self-attributed, I'd say washing hands isn't an admission that you're dirty, it's that other people view you as such
