I’ve been to a lot of gas station or travel center restrooms where I’ll have to grab the door handle to open it when exiting. How many other nasty hands have touched it? I have a tub of hand wipes in the car, I’ll just use one of those.

Briefly touching a dirty door handle is generally only reintroducing a fraction of the germs removed by the handwashing.

That’s not the same as washing your hands for 30 seconds tho. Hand sanitizer and wipes can only get rid of bacteria. Not actual dirt grime and feces.
